Considered by many to be one of the better science fiction movies of the late 80's, Robocop tells the story a terminally wounded Detroit police officer who returns to service as a cyborg. This cubee paper toy is Randyfivesix's take on the silver crimefighter. The two page template for the toy is available here.

Here is a full scale Predator bio mask papercraft by jango.clone. I am not sure of the origin of the 3D model used in this papercraft, but it may be from one of the video games from the Alien vs. Predator franchise. According to the AVP Wiki, bio masks:

"...contain a variety of functions which the Predators may require during a hunt. As well as protecting the Predator's head, the mask has a sound amplifier, multiple vision modes, a zoom function, some diagnostic capabilities and a recording system. The bio mask may also have a red targeting laser, used by a Predator for accurate plasma caster shots."
The template for the mask is available in both PDF and Pepakura PDO format.

Ron Caudillo is a well known designer of science fiction paper models. His Star Trek TOS models of the USS Enterprise and its bridge have delighted Trek fans since 2003. Less well known perhaps is his papercraft model of the landing pod from the 1960's televisionshow, Lost in Space. The pod was introduced in the third season of the show as a means to transport the crew of the Jupiter 2 spaceship down to the surface of alien planets. Pendercrafts.com has made the template for the LIS pod available in a zip file. The zip file also includes numerous Caudillo designs including paper models of: military vehicles, several BattleBots, a bus, puzzle cubes, a few office machines, as well as the aforementioned Star Trek models. Look for the download link at the bottom of the page here.

This nicely done Stargate papercraft was designed to be used with the Stargate SG-1 role playing game. The RPG game, as you might guess, is based on the Stargate movie and television series. The template for this gateway was created by Sean Lambert in 2003 and may be downloaded here.

Some guys at the 405th Infantry Division costuming forum have put together a template for a full size papercraft model of the helmets that appear in the Predator movies. These helmets are worn by the extraterrestrial predators themselves and in the movies are only occasionally removed to reveal the grotesque faces that lie beneath. The Pepakura PDO file of the template was posted by 405th forum member Spartan857 while the original 3D model was created by member Droodles. Go here for a download of the template.

Papercraft designer Ninjatoes recently released a Colonial Viper Mark II model, but before the Mark II there was the Viper Mark I which appeared in the original Battlestar Galactica television series that aired in the late 70's. This papercraft Mark I is a rework by Fred Smith of a Viper template from a Japanese website. Fred has done a great job giving the Viper a weathered look and he also has designed a launch rail on which to display the starfighter. Fred's templates are available for download here. In addition to the red striped Viper pictured, there is also a template for a blue striped Viper.

These hover tank paper models were intended to be used with science fiction themed tabletop wargaming, but I think they are they are kinda cute in and of themselves. Since the scale of the models is 15mm (1:120), the template for one tank is small enough to fit on a single sheet of paper. Each of these tanks was designed by UK miniature gamer Jermey Claridge and may be download from his website here. There are three other tank models available in addition to the three pictured above. Also, each of the tanks may be built with either a plain metal, desert camo, or woodland camo color scheme.

One of my favorite science fiction movies is The Fifth Element, but papercraft models based on the film are virtually non-existent. This paper toy is one of the few examples I have come across. Now the face of this "Lila" Russian paper toy doesn't look much like Milla Jojovich in my opinion, but the costume and the orange hair are give aways that it is meant to be the character "Leeloo" from The Fifth Element. From the front, the oddly distorted body of the paper toy makes it look somewhat like an Egyptian sphinx. The easy one piece template may be found here.

DeviantART user Cyberdrone has done some creative reworking of the glue-less Cubee paper toy template to create some awesome Ghostbusters movie props. On the left is a psycho kinetic energy (PKE) meter which the Ghostbusters use to detect the presence of ghosts. On the right is a ghost trap used to contain ghosts after they are captured. Check out these and other custom Ghostbusters Cubee creations on Cyberdrone's page here.

In the early 60's, long before British television producer Gerry Anderson produced TV shows like Space:1999 and Thunderbirds, he created two shows, Supercar and Fireball XL5. Each of the productions was a science fiction children's show that featured Anderson's signature marionettes which later became so well known on the Thunderbirds show. These two papercraft were created in 2001 by Pierre Fontaine as an homage to the shows which are now largely forgotten. Free template downloads of the retro spacecraft are available here along with a template for a papercraft Queen Anne style house.

From the Gavin Schmidt (the same designer who gave us the Harry Potter paper toy) comes another creation using the "Briki" paper toy template. This time the subject is Isaac Clarke, the main character from the Dead Space video game. I kind of like the hand drawn look of the art. Get your own printable template here at robotmartini.com.

Entitled "Robby the CubeBot", this robot papercraft is a hako version of Robby the Robot from the classic 1956 Science Fiction movie, Forbidden Planet. The template was designed by Hobby Talk Forum member "Airdave" and is available here. Once upon a time, it was possible to download a realistic papercraft Robby from Japanese designer "Uhu02", but as far as I know the model is no longer offered. If that is the case, then this hako version may be the only free papercraft of Robby currently available on the Internet.

These are two papercraft versions of the Allspark, the powerful technological object that is capable of giving life to inanimate machines in the 2007 Transformers movie. The template for the cube on the left was created by T. Birge in 2008 and may be found in his Flickr gallery here (be sure to check out his large collection of miniature papercraft Transformers toy boxes while you are there). The template for the cube on the right is my modification of a texture created by Cody2003 at the TFW2005 forum. A download of this template is available on my DeviantArt page here. If you like cubes, these two look nice sitting next to a couple of other cube papercraft I have posted. ;)

When comic artist Matt Brooker couldn't find an appropriate backdrop for photographing his collection of miniature Doctor Who Dalek toys, he created this modular Sci Fi corridor system out of cardstock. The possibilities of Brooker's system are endless. The corridors might be used as a background for photographing Sci Fi papercraft or to create a papercraft diorama. The system might also be used for miniature gaming. What appear to be light fixtures on the ceiling of the corridor are actually nothing more than holes that allow outside light to enter. To learn more about Booker's system visit his blog here. PDF templates of the various components of the corridor system may be downloaded here.

I am currently working on several papercraft designs and this is the first to be finished. It shouldn't be hard to see why this one was first. It only has three parts! :)
