This handsome pup is Clyde. I am usually hesitant to work on hard profile portraits however in this case I think it turned out really nice. Sometimes when a pup is staring off the canvas in one direction your eye will follow that stare. I think in Clyde's case we are left wondering what he is thinking about and his noble calm expression tells us a lot about him.

About the Art: This was a painterly project and if you check out his proofing set you will see some softer versions. This sample has a crisp posterize effect on top of the painterly work. Lately I have been wanting to see more contrast in my work and I have been playing more with filters on top of the smudge work.
